Dr. Eunetra Simpson, Principal
Dr. Simpson has worked in Aldine ISD for seventeen years with experiences in teaching at Stovall Academy, Houston Academy, and Parker Intermediate, as well as clerical experience at the Resource and Annex buildings. She is also a proud alumna of Prairie View A&M University and Eisenhower High School.
In 2009, Dr. Simpson obtained a doctoral degree in Educational Leadership which has provided her with extensive insight of the form and matter of an educational leader’s responsibilities such as transformational leadership, strategic planning, and curriculum development in language arts, science, writing and math. Dr. Simpson has also contributed to the professional community by presenting at local and national conferences such as the Texas Council of Teachers of Language Arts, Magnet Schools of America, Region IV. She has also edited a manuscript for Pearson Education’s RtI in Mathematics by Regina Gresham and Mary Little.
In her first year as Principal of Bethune Academy, Dr. Simpson’s overarching goal as an educational leader is to inspire learners to continually improve and maximize his or her potential. In essence, Bethune Academy’s vision statement says it best. Learners must believe they are equipped with the tools necessary to go anywhere and do anything in life!
Dr. Dawn Doucet, Assistant Principal
Dr. Dawn Doucet is entering her seventeen year in education and her second year as the very proud Assistant Principal at Bethune Academy. Prior to her appointment as Assistant Principal, she served as Skills Specialist, Dyslexia Specialist and RtI Teacher.
Dr. Doucet received her bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from Texas Southern University and her master's degree in Educational Leadership from Prairie View A & M University.
Dr. Doucet is looking forward to working with the Acres Homes community to make Bethune Academy an outstanding school that focuses on both the students’ academic and social growth.
